Looking at the Future Structure Of Your Business?

Over the last few weeks there has been a constant stream of updates regarding Furloughing and the Job Retention Scheme. We hope that if you have used the Job Retention Scheme portal that you have been successful, we have heard some good reports.

The government could be issuing detailed guidance on how businesses around the UK can safely return to work as early as this week, it has been reported, as a number of companies are starting to slowly ramp up business.

We acknowledge that it is almost impossible to plan ahead, as there are so many variables regarding when lockdown will end, what will happen in practical terms of phasing back to normal business operations and what is the impact on your business in the short/medium and longer term.

Most businesses are going to need to remodel in order to work in potentially narrower markets, which may mean that staff costs need to be reviewed and you may need to make redundancies. If so, bear in mind the time/practical constraints:

  • If you are considering over 20 redundancies, you need to ensure you have time to complete the collective consultation obligations that require you to consult for 30 or 45 days before issuing notice of redundancy;

  • You will also need to bear in mind the practical time implications of consulting staff in writing/via technology;

  •  If you anticipate you will need to make redundancies by the end of the scheme you need to be consulting by end of May at the very latest;

At Just Global we can help you develop your resource plan for the future, if you decide that it is essential to make some roles redundancy, we can manage the whole process for you.

We are also experienced in developing Outplacement Support Coaching programmes for leaders as well as employees.
